Kenco Logistic Services adds 2 million square feet

   Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Kenco Logistic Services said it now has 22 million square feet of warehouse space under management, having added 1.95 million square feet in the first quarter.

   'New warehouse operations are providing complete logistics services for consumer goods manufacturers ranging from kitchen and bath products to vacuum cleaner and small appliance parts. Facilities are located across the country, in California, Ohio, and Kentucky. We have also expanded our route delivery services into Canada, and I am pleased to report that so far in 2008 an additional 2 million square feet has been contracted,' said Gary Mayfield, chairman and chief executive officer of the third-party logistics company.

   Kenco manages 90 facilities in 22 states and Canada and specializes in facilities and services for the pharmaceutical, automotive, food, textile and appliance industries.

   Mayfield said the new business comes from existing clients Electrolux and Stryker, plus new Kenco customers Honeywell, Kohler and Mervyns Department Stores. Other Kenco customers include GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Whirlpool and Cummins.
