KENT LINE APPOINTS NEW SENIOR MANAGEMENT
Kent Line International Ltd., a St. John, New Brunswick-based ocean carrier, has appointed two new senior managers to its operations.
Keith Phillips has been named director of sales in Kent Line’s container division. He will responsible for sales development in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean. Phillips will report to Graham Fraser, vice president and general manager of Kent Line.
Phillips was general manager of the Bahamas for Crowley Maritime Corp. He also held sales management positions at United States Lines.
Dan MacKenzie has been promoted to line manager of the container division. He joined Kent Line in 1998 from Canadian paper company, Abitibi-Price.
These management appointments follow last month’s announcement of enhancements to Kent Line’s Canada/Caribbean service.
Three ships, including two 1,174-TEU Kent Line newbuildings, have been deployed on the route, allowing the introduction of fixed-day weekly calls at Miami and Philadelphia into a rotation of Philadelphia, Saint John, Miami, San Juan, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad, Rio Haina, Jamaica and Philadelphia.
