Kerry Logistics picks GT Nexus as carrier information platform

   GT Nexus has been chosen by Hong Kong-based 3PL Kerry Logistics to launch a multicarrier ocean shipment visibility platform over the GT Nexus portal, the Alameda, Calif.-based company said Tuesday.

   The system will provide status information from every major ocean carrier in Kerry's network, representing most of the world's top lines. Kerry has operations in 260 cities in the Asia Pacific region, and its global network covers six continents.

   GT Nexus will capture shipment status data from carriers through existing integrated feeds, standardize the data and then make the information viewable online. Personnel in any Kerry office can access the platform through standard a Web browser.

   'We move high volumes of containerized freight for customers all over the world,' said Wilson Lee, director of information technology at Kerry Logistics, in a statement. 'This system gives us the visibility and control we need to deliver superior service to customers.'
