Key House Homeland Security aide joins Monument Group
The Monument Policy Group said it has named Jessica Herrera-Flanigan as partner, effective July 1.
Herrera-Flanigan has served as staff director and general counsel to the House Homeland Security Committee since its creation in 2003. She played a large role in shaping and passing the 9/11 Commission Implementation Act, as well as bills related to port, rail, aviation, border, chemical, and cyber security.
Prior to her tour in the House, Herrera-Flanigan spent four years at the Justice Department in the Computer crime and intellectual property section.
The lobbying and government consulting group was founded by Stewart Verdery Jr., a former assistant secretary for policy and planning at the Department of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005.
