KLM CARGO, ENVIROTAINER TEAM UP FOR PERISHABLES SERVICE
KLM Cargo and Envirotainer have agreed to work together to provide
guaranteed temperature-controlled logistics services.
KLM Cargo, a division of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, will launch
temperature-guaranteed air-freight services in September between Amsterdam
Airport Schiphol and South Africa; Quito, Ecuador; Lima, Peru; and
Santiago, Chile. The program will be expanded across KLM’s cargo network.
The service will employ Envirotainer condition-controlled containers.
Envirotainer will also establish a hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
The companies plan to jointly fund research and development programs to
expand their logistics services.
