KLM LAUNCHES HELSINKI FREIGHTER SERVICE
KLM Cargo said it will launch Airbus A300 freighter service between Amsterdam and Helsinki, Finland, on August 14.
The twice-weekly service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, “offering Finnish import and export cargo attractive connections with KLM Cargo’s network,” the carrier said.
KLM has leased the A300, which can carry about 45 tons of cargo, from Schreiner Airways.
Also, KLM will add additional Saturday flights to both Manchester, U.K., and Dublin from Amsterdam, raising the frequency of those services to five-times weekly and six-times weekly, respectively.
KLM has suspended service between Amsterdam and Skavsta airport in Sweden, but will add additional truck service to serve important Swedish freight markets.
KLM said it will operate one temporary Saturday-night flight between Amsterdam and Bologna, Italy, from July to September to make up for weekend truck bans at the Italian border.
