Swiss freight forwarder Kuehne + Nagel will use its Shanghai gateway to further strengthen its less-than-containerload offerings in the Asia Pacific region.
The new gateway complements K+N’s existing direct services in Shanghai and serves as an alternative to the company’s other two gateways in Singapore and Sri Lanka. Since May 1, 28 new gateway services have been operational from Shanghai, the company said.
The services, operated by K+N’s non-vessel-operating common carrier Blue Anchor Line, feature fixed-day, weekly sailings from Shanghai to Europe, Latin America, South America and the Middle East.
With the availability of domestic feeder and trucking services, LCL shipments from the northern and central Chinese ports of Dalian, Tianjin,
Qingdao, Ningbo and Xiamen can be connected with K+N’s bonded warehouse facilities in Shanghai prior to their further delivery to overseas markets.
With these new additions, K+N’s LCL portfolio in Asia-Pacific now includes 276 direct as well as 145 national and multinational gateway services.
