KOREAN AIR REPORTS PROFIT FOR 1998
Korean Airlines reported a net profit of 296.6 billion won ($246
million) for its 1998 fiscal year, after a loss of 379 billion won for 1997.
Operating revenue rose 7 percent to 4.59 trillion won ($3.8 billion.)
Cargo revenue rose 35 percent, the company said.
The company cited route restructuring, cost controls, declining fuel
prices and foreign-exchange gains resulting from the strengthening of the
won.
