Korean registry adds app

The Korean Register of Shipping has taken its information mobile with the launch of a new app called SMART Fleet.
SMART Fleet is available on Android and iOS platforms and delivers up-to-date information on vessels, fleets, surveys, audits, and port state control.
Along with SMART Fleet, the registry has developed a mobile Web version of KR-CON, an international database program of IMO instruments.
“In today’s fully wired world, the busy shipping executive expects global, anytime access to vital vessel information. This innovative new service brings KR up to date with the latest technology and delivers a value added service to the industry,” said the registry’s chairman and chief executive officer, Oh Kong-gyun, in a statement.
