KTM Motorcycles selects Con-Way as U.S. logistics provider
KTM North America Inc., a division of KTM Sportmotorcycle AG in Mattighofen, Austria, has contracted with Con-Way Logistics for Con-Way to be KTM’s exclusive U.S. logistics provider.
Con-Way will receive KTM’s crated motorcycles delivered from ocean vessels and then warehouse and ship the motorcycles to KTM’s 420 dealers in the United States and Canada.
KTM Sportsmotorcycle AG sells 70,000 units worldwide each year. KTM’s sales in North America have increased from 1,000 motorcycles in 1992 to about 20,000 in 2004, said Michael S. Bare, vice president and general manager of Con-Way Logistics, based in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Con-Way Logistics is part of Con-Way Transportation Services Inc., which is a subsidiary of CNF Inc.
