KUEHNE & NAGEL ADOPTS I2 SUPPLY CHAIN SOFTWARE
Kuehne & Nagel, the forwarding and logistics group,
has adopted the "Rhythm" supply chain software of i2 Technologies.
Kuehne & Nagel will use the software to optimize and operate the
worldwide supply chains of its customers, the company said.
The Rhythm system will be integrated into the information technology
systems of Kuehne & Nagel and its customers to ensure a continuous flow of information
across the entire supply chain.
Kuehne & Nagel and i2 have agreed to form a strategic
partnership. Initially, it will focus on the joint deployment of special logistics
projects and information technology services for major customers.
A "demonstration center" will be set up at Kuehne &
Nagel’s corporate headquarters in Schindellegi, Switzerland, to show to customers the
Rhythm system in actual cargo flow situations.
Kuehne & Nagel said that the Rhythm system features automated
process monitoring, data integration (between Kuehne & Nagel, customers and i2
systems), cross-divisional consignment tracking and tracing, stock control, transport
management, and advisory functions such as network optimization.
