Large logistics park planned in Shenzhen
A subsidiary of Shenzhen Investment Holding Corp. is developing in western Shenzhen, China, a 600,000-square-meter logistics park including bonded warehouses, container depots and distribution centers.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said it has signed of a letter of intent to cooperate in the Qianhaiwan Logistics Park project, to be developed by Shenzhen West Logistics Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Shenzhen Investment Holding. The logistics project is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter.
“The facility will be the largest logistics center in Shenzhen, the busiest port in southern China,” MOL said.
Under the cooperation agreement, MOL will train Western Logistics personnel and dispatch specialists from MOL. The companies will later discuss business and capital tie-ups for operation of warehouses and container yards, MOL said.
MOL did not disclose the cost considered for the project.
Shenzhen, a special economic zone in China, enjoys a fast-growing economy and acts as a gateway to the Pearl River Delta areas of Guangzhou, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai.
