The supply chain design software provider LLamasoft this week released a tool aimed at helping companies manage optimize inventory levels.
The product, Inventory Guru, is intended to help companies better understand demand variability to right-sized safety stock. The tool is ultimately designed to help companies safeguard themselves against inventory variability.
“Traditional inventory optimization tools assume that all demand follows a ‘normal’ pattern, resulting in either too much inventory or stock-outs and lost sales,” Llamasoft said in a statement.
Inventory Guru uses an optimization algorithm developed by Llamasoft to analyze and classify demand patterns, followed by recommendations on end-to-end stocking levels and ordering strategies.
Inventory Guru is an integrated module within LLamasoft’s Supply Chain Guru supply chain modeling and design software.
“By combining breakthrough inventory optimization technology with network optimization and simulation, LLamasoft is providing companies with a level of confidence not available in typical inventory optimization technologies,” said Toby Brzoznowski, executive vice president of LLamasoft.
