LLOYD TRIESTINO CONFIRMS DIRECT CHINA/EUROPE LINK
Lloyd Triestino, the Italian shipping line, confirmed its plan to
launch a direct China/Asia/Mediterranean/northern Europe container service next month.
Lloyd Triestino’s vice chairman, Pier Luigi Maneschi, and executive
vice president, Maurizio Salce, attended a formal ceremony in Beijing to recognize the
agreement signed with the Chinese authorities.
The senior carrier executives met vice-president for communications of
the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Chunxian, and the general director of maritime
transport, Peng Quihong
The weekly "CEM" service will kick off on Aug. 4 in Shanghai,
with a rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Gioia Tauro,
Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Thamesport, Antwerp, Gioia Tauro, Singapore, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong
and Qingdao.
At the same time, the former "AME"
Asia/Mediterranean/northern Europe service of Evergreen will be terminated.
Evergreen, the parent company of Lloyd Triestino, will have space on
the new CEM link.
