LLOYD TRIESTINO, EVERGREEN CHANGE BELGIAN PORT IN ASIA/EUROPE LINK
Lloyd Triestino, the Italian subsidiary of Evergreen, is
changing the Belgian port of call of the Asia/northern Europe "CEM" container
service.
From Nov. 2, the Lloyd Triestino/Evergreen service will call at
Zeebrugge instead of Antwerp.
A spokesman for Evergreen said that a direct call at Gothenburg may be
added to the service rotation in the future. Until August, Evergreen had a direct
Gothenburg service as part of its "AME" Asia/Europe link.
The direct service has since been replaced by the joint Lloyd
Triestino/Evergreen CEM service, which serves Gothenburg by transshipment.
Maersk Line and Sea-Land Service are currently the only carriers to
provide a direct container service between Gothenburg and Asia, according to ComPairData,
the global shipping database on the Internet.
