Logistics Park Kansas City undergoes further expansion

Inland Port V, a 654,656-square-foot building at Logistics Park Kansas City, is expected to be completed in June 2016.

   NorthPoint Development has begun construction on the Inland Port V at the Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC), situated just outside Kansas City in Edgerton, Kan., according to a statement from the company.
   LPKC is a 1,500-acre distribution and warehouse development. The site is anchored by BNSF Railway’s intermodal facility, which opened in the fourth quarter of 2013.
   Inland Port V, a 654,656-square-foot building at LPKC, will feature a 36-foot clear height and 65 total loading docks, with the potential to expand to 130 loading docks, NorthPoint Development said.
   Once Inland Port V is completed, which is expected to be in June 2016, there will be around 4.8 million square feet of new buildings at LPKC, supporting total future building capacity of 17 million square feet.
   Tenants at LPKC include DeLong Grain, Demdaco, Flexsteel, International Transload Logistics, Jet.com, Kubota Tractor Corporation and Smart Warehousing, according to LPKC’s website. In the third quarter of 2015, turf care product manufacturer Excel Industries unveiled its plans to open a facility at LPKC.
