Logistics Park Kansas City upgrades facility

LPKC will partner with NorthPoint Development and BNSF Railways to construct an industrial rail spur and North Park near the LPKC Intermodal Facility.

The Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC), in partnership with its exclusive real estate developer, NorthPoint Development, and BNSF Railways, will begin construction of an industrial rail spur and North Park near the LPKC Intermodal Facility.
North Park will accommodate 3.4 million square feet of rail-served space, which supplements the 11 million square feet of warehouse building capacity at the logistics park, LPKC said in a statement.
The rail spur, which is expected to be completed in mid-2016, will open 325 acres of rail-served property at North Park.
In addition to these projects, the City of Edgerton is investing in the Waverly Road Improvement Project designed to improve a three mile stretch on Waverly Road to make it a heavy-haul corridor. The project also involves construction of a grade separation at the BNSF intermodal tracks to ensure rail traffic does not hinder traffic on Waverly Road.
LPKC is located on 1,500 acres in Edgerton, Kan., a southwest suburb of Kansas City. Tenants at LPKC include DeLong Grain, Demdaco, Flexsteel, International Transload Logistics, Kubota Tractor Corporation and Smart Warehousing.
