Longshoreman dies in Port Everglades accident
A longshoreman working at Port Everglades was killed Saturday when he was pinned by a container against a wall in the hold of a vessel.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened about 1 p.m. when a 20-foot container was being loaded into the Hamburg Sud vessel the 'Berulan.' The longshoreman, Louis Clairmont, 33, of Lauderhill, Fla., was rushed to Broward General Medical Center, where he died about 2 p.m.
