LYKES ADDS WEST COAST SOUTH AMERICA LINK
Lykes Lines is launching a Mexico/West Coast of Central America/West Coast of South America service that will also operate as a feeder for transpacific cargoes to and from Central and South America.
The new weekly service will connect at Manzanillo, on the Mexican West Coast, with Lykes Lines’ “Pacific Sprint” transpacific ships.
The port rotation of the new Mexico/West Coast of Central America/West Coast of South America service is: Manzanillo; Puerto Quetzal; Puerto Caldera; Buenaventura; Guayaquil; Callao; Iquique; San Antonio; Lirquen; Callao; Buenaventura; Puerto Caldera; Puerto Quetzal; Salina Cruz; and Manzanillo.
Ships will call weekly at the ports of Manzanillo, Callao and San Antonio, with other ports served every 14 to 16 days.
The service will use five ships of 800 to 1,100 TEUs. It will begin northbound from San Antonio on Feb. 5 and southbound from Manzanillo on Feb. 8.
Lykes said that it will offer some of the fastest transit times and connections in the Asia/Central America, Asia/South America and Mexico/South America trades.
