Lykes Lines will provide a second service between the Pacific coasts of the U.S. and Mexico and the West Coast of South America, by taking space on an existing joint service of TMM Lines, TMG, Columbus and Maruba.
Lykes will offer the second service from April 11, which will effectively extend its coverage of the West Coast South America trade by providing direct calls at Seattle; Vancouver, British Columbia; Los Angeles; and San Francisco.
The service has a rotation of Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Manzanillo, Buenaventura, Callao, Iquique, San Antonio, Lirquen, Callao, Manzanillo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver.
Lykes already offered a fortnightly service in this trade, with a rotation of Manzanillo, Puerto Quetzal, Puerto Caldera, Guayaquil, Callao, San Antonio, Buenaventura, Puerto Caldera, Puerto Quetzal, Salina Cruz and Manzanillo. The service is operated jointly by TMM Lines, TMG, Columbus, Maruba and Lykes.
The two services will enable Lykes Lines to offer a weekly service between Los Angeles and Manzanillo and the West Coast of South America, the carrier said. The service will also provide a weekly relay connection to and from the West Coast of South America for Lykes’ transpacific service.
