LYKES SAYS IT WILL STILL HAUL MILITARY CARGO
Lykes Lines says a transatlantic ship deployment will leave the carrier
with U.S.-flag ships that can carry U.S. military cargo from South Atlantic
and Gulf ports.
Lykes no longer operates U.S.-flag ships on its North Atlantic/Europe
service. But CEO Frank Halliwell says U.S.-flag ships still operate on the
line’s Gulf Atlantic Sprint service, which has a port rotation of
Charleston, Miami, Houston, Veracruz, Houston, New Orleans, Charleston,
Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Le Havre.
