MAERSK DATA AND EUROGATE IT START SOFTWARE-MARKETING VENTURE
Maersk Data USA and Eurogate IT Services have formed a joint venture called Global Transportation Solutions, LLC, based in Morristown, N.J., that will market existing software products to transportation providers.
“Transportation and logistics companies are confronted with a trade-off when deciding to purchase or to build information technology solutions,” said Steven Bushey, president and chief executive officer of Global Transportation Solutions. “They can commit considerable resources and money to build custom in-house systems, or they can purchase economical off-the-shelf products. GTS will take the best of both approaches.”
The company’s main business will be evaluating and selling customized software solutions. GTS has assembled three suites of products: Terminal Productivity, Intermodal Management, and Harbor Visibility.
