The Danish ocean carrier’s weekly service between Colombia and North Europe commenced operations last month with the Jan. 8 sailing of the Antwerp Trader from Turbo.
Ocean carrier Maersk Line launched the Colombia Express service last month between Colombia and North Europe, which has been specifically designed for refrigerated cargo.
The loop has a rotation of Turbo, Colombia; Santa Marta, Colombia; Portsmouth, United Kingdom; Antwerp, Belgium; and Hamburg, Germany, Maersk said. The Colombia Express does provide direct return calls to both Turbo and Santa Marta, according to the carrier’s most recent online service schedules.
The service commenced operations Jan. 8 from Turbo with the Antwerp Trader and operates with five vessels with an average capacity of 2,531 TEUs, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
StarCare technology refrigerated containers are utilized on the Colombia Express, which can carry bananas over long distances for up to 45 days.
