Maersk offering new East Med service
Florida shippers with limited access to ocean services in the Eastern Mediterranean trade will have a new intermodal option in the form of a Maersk Line service in that market.
The service started from the Port of Savannah on January 11. The overall rotation is New York/New Jersey, Savannah, Alexandria, Egypt; Haifa, Israel; Izmir, Turkey; and Gioia Tauro (Eastbound) and Cagliara (Westbound), in Italy.
Port of Savannah executive director Doug Marchand said Tuesday that the addition of the Maersk service give Savannah a total of five Med services.
