MAERSK OPENS NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN SHANGHAI
Maersk Logistics has opened a national distribution center in the Jiuting economic development zone in Shanghai, China.
The new facility will be a key piece in Maersk’s emerging China network and marks the continued growth of Maersk Logistics China. Steffen Schiottz-Christensen, managing director of Maersk Logistics (China) Co., said the “NDC establishment in Shanghai is an important first step in our fully controlled pan-China distribution network.”
Maersk Logistics will offer cross-docking, storage, import, export and distribution throughout China from the facility. Maersk will also offer supply chain, inventory and warehouse management solutions via its in-house IT system, MK*Logistics.
The 14,000-square-meter center is located in the Songjiang district of Shanghai, linked to city’s outer expressway for access to key ports and roads in China, Maersk said.
