The third-party logistics provider’s new license allows the company to operate as a full fledged forwarder after operating in China for several years on a limited basis as an NVOCC.
Mallory Alexander International Logistics has been granted a Class A forwarder’s license by the Chinese Government to operate out of Shanghai, according to a statement from the company.
The license permits the Memphis, Tenn.-based third party logistics provider to expand its service offerings to domestic and international customers in China. The company has operated in China for several years on a limited basis as an NVOCC, often relying on licensed partners to provide other services. It now will be able to prepare ocean and air bills of lading, book ocean cargo, consolidate ocean and air shipments, charter ocean and aircraft vessels, provide customs clearance, schedule inland truck deliveries and operate warehouses.
Company officials said they plan to add offices and staff in China as a result of the newly expanded license.
