MANHATTAN ASSOCIATES PARTNERS WITH UCC
Manhattan Associates, a leading developer of warehouse and supply chain management software, has partnered with the Uniform Code Council to promote development of Internet-based communications standards for the retail supply chain.
Manhattan Associates says it is the first supply chain software company to join UCCnet, a not-for-profit subsidiary set up by the UCC this year to develop and promote e-commerce solutions based on extensible markup language, or XML. XML is an Internet-based computer language for moving data between diverse systems and platforms.
Manhattan Associates said the base of a partnership with UCCnet was formed early this year after the software company developed a Web-based e-commerce solution for Federated Department Stores Inc. and three of its largest vendors — Oxford Industries, Jockey and Carole Hochman.
