Paul Jaenichen was sworn in as deputy administrator for the U.S. Maritime Administration last Friday and began his new job on Monday, July 23.
An Annapolis graduate, Jaenichen retired as a captain in the U.S. Navy earlier this year, having served the past two years as the Navy’s deputy chief of legislative affairs.
He spent the majority of his career at sea, serving on four different submarines before becoming executive officer of the USS Kentucky, then assuming command of the USS Albany.
