MARAD OPENS SEASON FOR ENROLLMENT IN VISA PROGRAM
The U.S. Maritime Administration has opened enrollment of its Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement for fiscal year 2002.
VISA provides commercial sealift and intermodal shipping services and systems, including vessels, vessel space, intermodal systems and equipment, terminal facilities and related services to the Department of Defense in times of national defense requirements or national emergencies.
The program is open to U.S.-flag vessel operators, including bareboat charter operators. Current participants in the VISA program are not required to apply for reenrollment.
