Container traffic rose 4 percent in terms of tonnage and TEUs from 8.8 million tons and 915,036 TEUs.
The port attributed the growth to further advances in both the Marseille, which primarily handles shortsea throughput, and the deepsea Fos harbor areas.
General cargo rose 1 percent from 13.5 million tons.
In addition, liquid bulk throughput rose 4 percent from 36.6 million tons, driven by the 4 percent growth in crude oil and petroleum products, while dry bulk throughput rose 8 percent to 10.8 million tons.
