MED SHIPPING PHASES IN VESSEL, ADDS KOBE TO PACIFIC LINK

   Geneva-based Mediterranean Shipping Co. has phased in a sixth vessel in its transpacific service and added a call at the Japanese port of Kobe.

   The vessel “MSC Oregon” made its maiden voyage from Los Angeles on Feb 26. The vessel was built in 1997 with a service speed of 21 knots and a capacity of 2,959 TEU’s.

   The first call at Kobe on the service will be on March 24.

   The revised service rotation is Los Angeles, Xingang, Busan. Shanghai, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Busan, Kobe, Yokohama and Los Angeles.
