MED/WEST COAST CONFERENCE INTRODUCES WESTBOUND ATLANTIC CHARGE

The Med Pacific Conference, which covers the trade
between the Mediterranean and the West Coasts of the U.S. and Canada, is introducing a
westbound equipment surcharge of $250 per container.
The "equipment imbalance service surcharge", effective on
Oct. 1, will apply to all westbound shipments.
The Mediterranean/West Coast of North America conference is the latest
to have announced the surcharge, due to be implemented by virtually all the conference and
non-conference carriers in the northern Europe and Mediterranean trades to the U.S. and
Canada.
