Mihok to manage enlarged Eastern Europe region for Kuehne + Nagel
Kuehne + Nagel has appointed Bob Mihok as its regional manager for the Swiss company's operations in Eastern Europe.
Mihok joined Kuehne + Nagel in 1982 and since 2001 has been managing the company’s South America organization. He has also held senior roles in the United States, Italy and Indonesia among other places.
The company said it is merging two regional organizations (Northeast Europe and Southeast Europe) into one to create the new East Europe division, which will comprise 19 countries: Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
Mihok will be in charge of 75 locations, more than 600,000 square meters of warehouse space and a staff of about 4,500. The regional headquarters will be in Vienna, Austria.
'Following the early development of our activities in Eastern Europe in the 1990s, we have been able to continually expand our services and enlarge our customer base in the region,' said Klaus Herms, Kuehne + Nagel’s chief executive officer.
'By establishing the new Eastern Europe region we are accommodating the dynamic development across the region and will be able to fully exploit synergy effects.”
