Milaha, United Arab Chemical Carriers talk tanker fleet merger

Combining the tanker fleets would result in larger and stronger business, says Milaha.

The Qatari company Milaha said it is initiating talks with Dubai-based United Arab Chemical Carriers Ltd. in the United Arab Emirates regarding a possible combination of their respective product and chemical tanker businesses.
“If successful, this move is expected to result in a larger and stronger business, provide better financial returns, and strengthen the combined business market position,” said Milaha in a statement.
UACC has a fleet of 22 chemical and product tankers while Milaha has a diversified fleet, which includes gas and liquid product
tankers, harbor craft and offshore support vessels as well as
containerships. Milaha operates container feeder ships between Qatari ports from the regional transshipment hubs in Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi and Khorfakkan.
