MOL GROUP MERGES TWO U.S. FORWARDING SUBSIDIARIES
The Japanese group Mitsui O.S.K. Lines will merge its two U.S. forwarding and logistics subsidiaries, AMT Freight, Inc. and M.O. Air International, Inc., on July 1.
AMT Freight, based in Battle Creek, Mich., has annual revenues of $30 million and specializes in logistics services, including ocean freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, truck transportation and arrangements for through transportation of specialized cargoes for manufacturing plants.
M.O. Air International, provides air freight forwarding, ocean freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution and international moving services and has yearly revenues of $42 million.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said that the combined company, to be named MOL Logistics (USA) Inc., will have 300 employees, 18 offices, 10 warehouses and a share capital of $4.3 million.
The MOL group has already integrated its logistics businesses in Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands.
