MOL orders six 20,150-TEU containerships

The ocean liner said the ships, scheduled for delivery in 2017, will be deployed in the Asia-North Europe trade.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has ordered four containerships with capacity for 20,150 TEUs from Samsung Heavy Industries and has signed a long-term charter for two similar ships from Shoei Kisen Kaisha that will be built by Imabari Shipbuilding.
The six ships are scheduled to be delivered in 2017 and will be deployed in the Asia-Europe trade.
MOL said the vessels will have energy saving technology to reduce fuel consumption and that the engines will be capable of using LNG as fuel if the ships are remodeled in the future.
