The Japanese ocean carrier has changed the names of its MM Holdings (Americas) and Mitsui O.S.K. Bulk Shipping (Asia Oceania) divisions in an effort to unify its marketing efforts and improve customer service.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) has rebranded two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries in order to unify its marketing efforts and improve customer service, the company said in a statement.
The Japanese ocean carrier changed the name of its MM Holdings (Americas) division to MOL (Americas) Holdings, effective July 7, 2016, and Mitsui O.S.K. Bulk Shipping (Asia Oceania) to MOL (Asia Oceania), effective Aug. 5, 2016.
Headquartered in Woodbridge, N.J. and Singapore, respectively, MOL (Americas) and MOL (Asia Oceania) “will strive to provide customers with high value-added services that demonstrate MOL’s comprehensive, group-wide strength” in their respective regions, the company said.
MOL (Americas) will be headed by Toshiya Konishi, MOL chief executive representative for the Americas and senior managing executive officer, while MOL (Asia Oceania) will be run by Mitsujiro Akasaka, MOL chief executive representative for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania, and executive officer.
