MSC raises rates to and from U.S.
Swiss carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. said it is raising rates on several lanes to and from the United States over the next two months.
Cargo moving westbound from Israel to the United States will see rates go up $125 per TEU and $250 per FEU beginning Sept. 1. Also on Sept. 1, rates will rise by $400 per TEU and $500 per FEU on all westbound shipments from Europe to the United States.
Rates for U.S. exports to Asia, excluding reefers, will rise $120 per TEU and $150 per FEU beginning Sept. 5. The hike applies to all commodities and is applicable to all intermodal moves through ports on the U.S. West, East and Gulf coasts.
Also on Sept. 5, reefer exports from U.S. West Coast ports to Asia will rise $190 per TEU and $250 per FEU. Through U.S. East and Gulf Coast port, rates will rise $225 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
On Oct. 1, rates on cargo moving westbound from Italy, Portugal and Spain will rise $300 per TEU or FEU.
