N.J. retailer picks handling system for Alabama warehouse
Secaucus, N.J.-based Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc. has selected Dematic Corp. to supply an automated material handling system for a new 700,000-square-foot distribution center in Fort Payne, Ala.
Dematic said the facility would “go live” in the second half of this year.
The Fort Payne distribution center will be the fourth facility where Dematic and The Children’s Place have worked together. The other distribution centers are located in Ontario, Calif.; Dayton, N.J.; and Ontario, Canada.
The retailer operates 865 Children’s Place and 328 Disney Stores in North America,
Ft. Payne is located on Interstate 59 between Birmingham and Chattanooga.
