Anchorage, Alaska-based Northern Air Cargo will commence a twice-weekly freighter route connecting Miami International Airport with Puerto Rico and Saint Martin, and two weekly routes between MIA and the Dominican Republic.
Northern Air Cargo (NAC) is launching four weekly charter flights from Miami International Airport (MIA) starting Nov. 1, 2016, the airport said in a statement.
The Anchorage, Alaska-based all-cargo airline will commence a twice-weekly freighter route connecting Miami International Airport with Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Princess Juliana International Airport in Saint Martin.
In addition, NAC will fly two weekly routes between MIA, the Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, one of which will also stop at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
All four of the new NAC routes out of Miami will be served by Boeing 737-300F aircraft.
MIA noted Northern Air Cargo is the third all-cargo airline to touch down at the South Florida airport this year. Canada’s KF Cargo in April commenced charter airfreight service between MIA and South America, while U.S.-based 21 Air is scheduled to begin eight weekly roundtrip freighter flights to Latin America in November.
“We look forward to welcoming Northern Air Cargo to MIA, and we wish them success on their expansion to the Latin American and Caribbean region,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González. “MIA’s vast route network across the globe, in addition to our evolving cargo logistics infrastructure, continues to attract freighter airlines from around the world.”
