NACPC launches cooperative chassis pool in Savannah

The North American Chassis Pool Cooperative has partnered with Consolidated Chassis Management to operate a pool of 40-foot premium chassis available for short and long-term use, the organization said Monday.

The North American Chassis Pool Cooperative (NACPC) has partnered with Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM) to launch a new cooperative chassis pool in Savannah, Ga., the organization said Monday.
Effective Aug. 1, 2016, NACPC and CCM will operate a pool of 40-foot premium chassis available for short and long-term use under NACPC’s at-cost pricing model.
The groups said the chassis being used are equipped with radial tires, LED lights and auto-inflation systems, making them among the newest and safest on the market.
“This premium chassis pool, conveniently located just outside the Port of Savannah, will enable us to make our safe and modern chassis available directly to motor carriers,” NACPC President and Chairman David Manning said in a statement. “Although we have previously contributed new chassis with this equipment into the gray pools, this particular solution will ensure that our customers have access to a premium quality chassis each and every time.”
Founded by 12 motor carriers in 2012, the North American Chassis Pool Cooperative operates more than 13,000 chassis in the Midwest, Gulf, and South Atlantic United States with the goal of providing modern chassis to users with at-cost pricing.
Consolidated Chassis Management, the largest cooperative pool manager in the U.S., operates over 135,000 chassis and offers pool management, private fleet and chassis data management services.
