NEW A.P.MOLLER LARGE TANKER BRINGS TOTAL TO 10
The A.P. Moller group of Denmark has taken delivery of its 10th Very Large
Crude Carrier, from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. in South Korea.
The "Ellen Maersk" is rated at 308,491deadweight tons and loads
over two million barrells of crude oil. Her addition to Maersk Tankers, a sister company
to Maersk Sealand, brings the A.P. Moller group’s owned VLCC fleet close to three million
deadweight tons in total, individually ranged between 277,000 and 308,000deadweight tons
in size.
Ellen Maersk has been fixed on a long term charter contract to Exxon Mobil
Corp, starting later this year.
