New cross-dock warehouse in port of Savannah
American Port Services, a third-party logistics provider, has opened a 180,000-square-foot cross-dock facility in Savannah within five miles of the port’s Garden City container terminal.
“Savannah, more than any other U.S. port over the last decade, has grabbed the attention of a number of high-volume retailers,” said George Powers, president of American Port Services.
The Savannah-based company already operated 3 million square feet of logistics facilities close to the port of Savannah’s Garden City terminal.
The additional facility and its paved storage area are under 24/7 security via guardhouse entry and exit, as well as electronic surveillance.
American Port Services also has operations in Charleston, Norfolk and Houston.
