NEW MAERSK SEALAND SERVICE TO CALL PHILADELPHIA
Ships of Maersk Sealand will start calling at the Packer Avenue Marine in the port of Philadelphia in September, when the carrier kicks off its new U.S. East Coast/U.S. West Coast/Australia/New Zealand fortnightly service, announced recently.
For the port of Philadelphia, the new operation will also be the only Maersk Sealand service calling at the port.
“The selection of Philadelphia confirms its pre-eminent position as the port of choice on the eastern seaboard for refrigerated cargoes,” a spokesman for Holt said. Philadelphia will be the only port of call on the East Coast of the U.S. for this service.
