The New Zealand European Shipping Association is
increasing northbound freight rates, effective Jan. 1.
For dry cargoes, the increase is $100 (U.S.) per 20-foot container and
$180 per 40-foot box.
For refrigerated shipments, rates are going up by $200 per 20-foot
container and $360 per 40-footer.
The members of the New Zealand/Europe conference are CMA CGM,
Consortium Hispania Lines, Contship Containerlines, Hapag-Lloyd, Marfret, P&O Nedlloyd
and Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
The announcement of northbound freight rate rises follow increases of
$150 per 20-foot container and $250 per 40-footer introduced in October by the Europe/New
Zealand conference in the southbound direction.
