NIT League, IANA name new boards
The National Industrial Transportation League, a century-old organization representing shippers and carriers on transportation policy, has elevated Mark Maleski, supply chain logistics director for JCPenney Co., to chairman of the board.
Maleski, previously first vice chairman, takes over from Curt Warfel, customer service and logistics manager for Eka Chemicals. His term will last two years.
Also moving up the leadership pecking order is Terry Bunch, director transportation and distribution for Rayonier, to first vice chairman. The second vice chairman is Phil Marlino, logistics project manager for ConocoPhillips Co. Matt Ehlinger, director corporate transportation for NCH Corp., is third vice chairman and Mary Pileggi, U.S.-Canada logistics manager for DuPont, is treasurer.
The membership approved the new board at the organization’s annual conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., this week.
The Intermodal Association of North America also announced at their co-located conference the addition of two new board members. Chris Munro, chief executive officer of RoadLink, will serve as an at-large board member and Patrick Valentine, director of safety and equipment issues for Maersk Equipment Service Co., will represent the organization’s Water Division on the board.
Re-elected directors include Steve Rubin, president of Seacastle Chassis, who represents the Supplier Division; and Jim Handoush, president of Landstar Global Logistics, who represents the Intermodal Marketing Company division.
All four were elected to three-year terms that expire in 2011.
