NIT LEAGUE LAUNCHES GLOBAL SHIPPERS NETWORK WEB SITE
The National Industrial Transportation League Monday launched the “Global Shippers Network” a free Internet site, at www.globalshippersnetwork.org .
The Web site houses information from U.S. government agencies, foreign government agencies, the NIT League and shippers councils based in Canada, Europe, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Federation of ASEAN Shippers’ Council.
Information on the NIT League includes upcoming seminars sponsored by the league.
The site provides information from government agencies including the Maritime Administration, the Federal Maritime Commission, the Surface Transportation Board, the U.S. Customs Service, the World Bank and the Export-Import Bank of the United States is available on the Web site.
The NIT League expects that other trade organizations will offer information on its system, and hopes to hook up with a number of organizations, including the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America and the American Association of Port Authorities.
