NORASIA DROPS OAKLAND CALL, REVAMPS PACIFIC SERVICE
Norasia, the Swiss shipping line acquired recently by the Compania Sud Americana de Vapores group, has ended direct weekly calls at Oakland as part of its PNW transpacific service.
Norasia has also taken four 25-knot 1,400-TEU containerships out of the service and replaced them by slower vessels.
The carrier has changed the schedule of the PNW service and adopted a revised rotation of Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle; Yantian; Hong Kong; Keelung; Busan; Vancouver; and Seattle.
The service now has a transit time of 16 days from Hong Kong to Vancouver, instead of 14 days previously, according to Norasia’s public long-term schedule.
Updated information of the Norasia service is posted on ComPairData, the global shipping database on the Internet, at www.compairdata.com.
According to the ComPairData database, the Evergreen TPN service is now the fastest service from Hong Kong to Vancouver, with a transit time of 14 days.
