NordicTrack maker to open Inland Empire DC

NordicTrack maker to open Inland Empire DC

The Utah-based manufacturer of NordicTrack and Gold's Gym fitness equipment brands said it will open a new distribution center in Redlands to handle imported merchandise heading through the Southern California ports from China.

Icon Health & Fitness Inc. plans to be working out of the recently completed 411,000-square-foot DC by Sept. 1. The company also maintains distribution centers in Georgia and Utah.

The firm had been shipping products through the Port of Long Beach and trucking to their Utah warehouse for distribution across the nation. Icon expects to process upwards of 3,500 containers of goods through the new center by the end of the first quarter neat year. The firm is confident that the new facility, and its proximity to the port, will reduce the firm's transportation costs.
