Norfolk Southern announces non-intermodal rate changes set for April
Transportation firm Norfolk Southern said Friday it would discontinue assessing fuel surcharges on its local (non-intermodal) public rates effective April 1.
A release from the Norfolk, Va.-based company said that future adjustments to public prices will reflect ongoing market conditions and in this regard, current local (non-intermodal) public prices will be adjusted downward by 1 percent effective April 1.
Traffic moving under local (non-intermodal) public rates comprises about 5 percent of Norfolk Southern’s total revenue base.
